Boy Crusaders

General Information

The Boy Crusader program welcomes boys in grades 1-8. Currently, boys are grouped into two age levels, grades 1-4 and grades 5-8.

Leaders for the 2009-2010 school year are:

Grades 1-4 - Brian McEvoy

Grades 5-8 - Tony Konkol

For most activities the two groups will meet together.

Annual dues will be $20 per boy for the 2009-2010 school year.

A schedule of planned activities is listed below. Please note that events are subject to change.
Updates will be printed in the Crusader Chronicle.

Pinewood Derby

St. John's Rules:

	The Pinewood Derby car kits MUST be purchased from the Boy Crusaders. The cars cost $3.00 and are available in the school office. For questions please contact your leader. Cars must be new every year.
	The rules included with the car kits have to be followed. *Cars will be disqualified if the rules are violated. Lubrication is allowed, but can't be done during the races.*
	The cars will be kept at school overnight. Your car will be available for the race on Tuesday evening. No further lubrication or modifying is allowed once impounded.
	Please follow all rules.
	The 2010 Pinewood Derby is scheduled to take place in March, 2010. Updates will be printed in the Crusader Chronicle.

You can help

The Boy Crusaders are looking for help from the congregation in the following manner:

Do you have a hobby, or skill, that you would like to share with the boys?

Could you plan or organize an event?

Teach 1 subject, or more if you are willing.

Topics may include, but are not limited to;
Compass training
Flag etiquette
Fire safety
Christian Leadership and Citizenship
Water safety
Knot tying and their uses for various knots
Bicycle Safety and Maintenance
Mapping and Measuring
Pinewood Derby

You can volunteer as an individual or a committee for any of these opportunities.
